What's Up With Percentages?
Film comes in different percentages. What does that mean? The percentage tells you how much visible light the film allows through. A higher percentage means a lighter tint/ a lower percentage means a darker tint. The lower the precent the lower the amount of light passes through.
For examble 5% is very dark, also known as limo tint, is usually used on vehicles in need of the most privacy While it is known for limousines it is also great for the backs of SUV's, Vans, Rv's, and camper trailers.
On the opposite end of the spectrum is 70% film this film looks almost clear, but don't be fooled by this. It dramatically reduces the interior heat of the vehicle and lowers the use of the car's air conditioner.
Ceramic Tint Doesn't Just Look Better. It Performs Better.
Window tint can completely change the appearance of a vehicle—but ceramic window tint is about much more than looks.
For many of our Gresham-area customers, the biggest reason to choose ceramic film is what they can't see.
Premium ceramic window film is engineered to help manage the solar energy entering through your vehicle's glass. That can mean a more comfortable interior, less glare while driving, protection from harmful UV rays and less exposure for the materials inside your vehicle.
And because ceramic film can deliver solar performance without relying solely on how dark the film is, you don't necessarily have to choose extremely dark windows to get the benefits of ceramic technology.

Is Ceramic Window Tint Even Worth it in Oregon?
For drivers primarily concerned with heat rejection, UV protection and long-term performance, ceramic is usually the best-performing film option we offer however, there are differences, to learn more click on the drop down menu to learn more.
Reduce Solar Heat Inside Your Vehicle
We've all experienced it: your vehicle sits outside on a sunny day, you open the door and the interior feels like an oven.
Automotive glass allows solar energy into the cabin, where dashboards, seats, consoles and other surfaces absorb that energy and heat up.
Ceramic window film is designed to reject a portion of that solar energy before it becomes heat inside your vehicle.
That can make a noticeable difference in everyday comfort—especially when your vehicle spends hours parked outside or you're driving with the sun beating through the side windows.
For drivers around Gresham, Wood Village, Troutdale and the Portland metro area, ceramic tint can be particularly valuable during our bright summer months and for vehicles that spend much of the day outside.
Important: The exact amount of solar-energy and infrared rejection depends on the specific ceramic film and shade selected. We can show you the performance specifications for the film you're considering.
Protect Your Skin and Your Vehicle From UV Exposure?
You don't need to be standing outside to be exposed to sunlight.
Your vehicle has a tremendous amount of glass surrounding you, and quality automotive window film can provide significant protection against ultraviolet radiation.
That matters for you and your passengers, but it also matters for your vehicle.
Years of sun exposure can contribute to fading and deterioration of:
Dashboards
Leather seats
Upholstery
Interior trim
Door panels
Other sun-exposed interior surfaces
Think of quality window film as another layer of protection between the sun and everything inside your vehicle.
If UV protection is especially important to you, tell us. We'll help you compare the actual manufacturer specifications of the films we offer rather than simply assuming darker means better protection.
Reduce Harsh Glare While Driving
Bright sunlight coming through the windshield and side windows can make driving uncomfortable.
Window tint reduces the amount of visible light entering through tinted glass, which can help reduce glare.
This can be particularly noticeable during:
Early-morning driving
Late-afternoon commuting
Long highway trips
Bright summer days
Driving when the sun is low on the horizon
The goal isn't necessarily to make your windows as dark as possible.
It's to find the right balance of visibility, glare reduction, privacy and performance for the way you drive.
Darker Doesn't Automatically Mean Cooler
This is one of the most important things to understand when choosing window tint.
Tint darkness and heat rejection are not the same measurement.
A film's VLT—or Visible Light Transmission—tells you how much visible light passes through the film.
For example, a 70% VLT film allows much more visible light through than a 20% VLT film.
But VLT alone doesn't tell you how effectively a film manages solar energy.
That's where the technology inside the film matters.
High-performance ceramic films are engineered to reject solar energy while still being available in lighter shades. This means someone who wants increased comfort and UV protection doesn't necessarily need the darkest-looking vehicle on the road.
That's one of the biggest reasons we recommend choosing tint based on performance + appearance + driving needs, rather than picking a percentage based only on how it looks.
More Comfort for the People Riding With You
The driver isn't the only person sitting next to all that glass.
Children and other passengers can spend long periods with sunlight coming directly through side or rear windows.
Ceramic window film can help reduce the solar energy entering through those windows and make the cabin more comfortable for everyone riding with you.
This can be especially useful for:
Family vehicles
SUVs
Minivans
Daily commuters
Road-trip vehicles
Vehicles with large areas of glass
And if your SUV or truck already has dark factory privacy glass in the rear, don't assume that means it provides all the same solar-performance benefits as quality aftermarket window film.
Privacy glass and high-performance ceramic window film aren't necessarily doing the same job.

Help Protect the Vehicle You've Invested In
Today's vehicles aren't cheap.
Neither are leather interiors, dashboards, infotainment systems, trim pieces and upholstery.
While window film can't stop normal aging, reducing the amount of UV and solar energy reaching interior surfaces can help protect them from sun-related deterioration.
This becomes especially important if:
You purchased a new vehicle
You plan to keep your vehicle for years
Your vehicle frequently sits outside
You have a dark interior
You have leather upholstery
You own a luxury, collector or specialty vehicle
Window tint is one of those upgrades you get to enjoy every time you drive the vehicle while also helping protect what's behind the glass.
Premium Performance Without Metal-Based Film
Ceramic automotive films use non-metallic technology.
That's important because modern vehicles are packed with technology, and so are the people riding in them.
Phones, GPS, Bluetooth and other wireless devices have become part of everyday driving.
Ceramic technology provides premium solar performance without relying on metal-based film construction.
So, Is Ceramic Window Tint Worth the Upgrade?
If your only goal is changing the appearance of your vehicle or adding privacy, carbon film may be all you need.
But if your priorities include greater heat rejection, UV protection, comfort, optical clarity and premium long-term performance, ceramic film is worth considering.
That's why we don't believe in simply telling every customer:
“Ceramic is better, so buy ceramic.”
After more than three decades of tinting vehicles, we know that the best window film is the one that actually fits your vehicle, your budget and what you want the tint to accomplish.
We'll show you the differences, explain the options and help you decide.
